What Veteran’s Day Means to Me! by Makayla
Veteran’s Day is a very important holiday. It is all about giving service men and women reverance and respect. Some people barely give that kind of thing a single thought. There are many people in Iraq defending us right now. U.S Uncle Sam! USA! America! Where freedom reigns in a republic of liberty. They’re defending us so we can keep that justice.
November 11th, at 11a.m. 1918, we ended WW1 and named that Day Armistice Day. But just a few years later war broke out in Europe. Many Americans took part. That’s why we changed the name to Veteran’s Day. to celebrate the hard work that Veterans have done for us. Although the idealistic hope of true armistice may happen, we’re fighting for it. Three things that Veterans have and have given. Courage: Veterans are very brave. Determination: Veterans have hope, know their country has hope in them, and try hard to make their country proud. We should be proud. Blood: Many Veterans have died in war.
